Shimadzu has launched its interactive "Virtual Advisor" website to further enhance
customer service. After a short registration step, the user will be offered a host
of information relating to LC prominence, LCMS-2020, TOC-V Series and TOC-L Series like flow diagrams, daily
and periodic maintenance and troubleshooting.
Daily Maintenance
Under the various systems, one can find a listing of significant tests which enable
optimal use of the measuring system. When one of these options is selected, an additional
window opens with the necessary explanations
Periodic Maintenance
This section offers advice on larger maintenance tasks, for instance how to exchange
syringes, tubings and o-rings. Short animated movies show a step-by-step implementation
of these maintenance tasks
Troubleshooting
In this section a range of problems are discussed in depth. First the problem at
hand is selected. This subsequently opens the corresponding flow diagram in which
a certain position in the flow diagram is highlighted. At this point, the system
will ask specific question which the user answers by clicking in either the "No"
and "Yes" button. The system then offers advice on how to solve the problem, or
the user may proceed to the next highlighted position in the flow diagram and enter
further details. In this way the occurring problem is addressed and analysed in
a step-by-step manner.
