IG-1000 – Follow us in the sub-nano range

The IG-1000 single is the first nano particle analyzer using induced grating method, which allows you to enter sub nano range. Thereby no cross-contaminations of foreign particles or agglomerates disturbs the measurements. Also no refractive index or special pH-value is required. Due to the new technology it will be also possible to prevent time-consuming zeta-potential measurements and to trace time-stability of the solution in its natural wet environmental.

The induced grating (IG) method, is a new principle for measuring the size of nanoparticles using the phenomenon of dielectrophoresis and diffracted light.

With dynamic light scattering, the conventional method, the light scattered by particles decreases sharply for particle sizes of less than 100 nm. Furthermore, in the single nano region with particle sizes of less than 10 nm, there are physical restrictions that make it difficult to detect scattered light. Therefore the measurement of particle sizes becomes also difficult. The IG method uses diffracted instead of scattered light and so it is free from these physical restrictions. Furthermore it doesn´t require the input of the refractive index as a measurement condition. It allows to measure nanoparticles simply and with high sensitivity. With the IG method, the decay process of a particle density diffraction grating is measured via the change in intensity of the diffracted light, and a diffusion coefficient is obtained
