The MarvelXACT connection system: precision and reliability for liquid chromatography

  • The MarvelXACT system is designed to provide reliable
    and repeatable face sealing on 10-32 tapered ports. An
    integrated, patented torque limiting mechanism protects
    against over- or under-tightening. Once the optimum
    torque is reached, the mechanism provides tactile feedback
    (audible/palpable „click“), ensuring correct installation
    without tools.
  • The integrated MarvelX sealing technology minimises internal
    dead volume, reducing the risk of carryover, peak
    tailing and peak widening. The system is made of highly
    resistant, bio-inert PEEK and stainless steel and enables
    over 100 reliable connection cycles. The fl exible 1/32“ OD
    capillary facilitates routing in the system. In addition, the
    patented technology automatically adapts to different
    port depths.

Conventional Fitting

Conventional conical fi ttings require a ferrule in combination with the fi tting itself for proper sealing. They rely on complex techniques and specialised tooling for improved sealing performance. This signifi cantly increases the
likelihood of additional internal volume and poor chromatography results. The high tightening pressure required for assembly accelerates wear on costly components and leads to more frequent replacement requirements, significantly increasing overall costs.

Unlike conventional systems, MarvelXACT fittings do not require a ferrule. Sealing takes place directly at the lower end of the port, which considerably simplifies the assembly process. This not only reduces the required torque,
but also significantly increases the number of possible connection and disconnection cycles. MarvelXACT fittings reduce hardware wear and thus extend product life. A further developed, protected tip design also guarantees zero dead volume (ZDV) and optimises chromatography.
