LabSolutions DB – Secure Data Management for Analytical Laboratories
LabSolutions DB is Shimadzu’s data management solution designed for laboratories that require secure storage, traceability, and regulatory compliance without the complexity of a full client-server environment. As part of the LabSolutions software ecosystem, it combines instrument control, data acquisition, processing, reporting, and centralized data management within a single platform.
LabSolutions DB enables laboratories to securely manage analytical data generated by Shimadzu chromatography, mass spectrometry, and spectroscopy systems. The software integrates data management capabilities directly into the analytical workflow, allowing users to store, access, review, and report results efficiently while maintaining data integrity.
A key benefit of LabSolutions DB is support for electronic records and electronic signatures (ER/ES). These features help laboratories comply with regulatory requirements by maintaining secure audit trails, controlling user access, and ensuring the traceability of analytical data throughout its lifecycle. This makes the software particularly suitable for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food, environmental, and quality control laboratories operating in regulated environments.
According to the Shimadzu Pocket Reference, LabSolutions DB can manage up to four instruments, making it an ideal solution for small to mid-sized laboratories that require centralized data management but do not need a full enterprise client-server architecture. For larger environments with higher scalability requirements, LabSolutions CS is available as the client-server alternative.
The software also supports Shimadzu's broader informatics ecosystem, enabling integration with advanced workflow tools such as LabSolutions Insight, Peakintelligence™, and other analytical software modules. These solutions help automate data processing, improve reporting consistency, and increase laboratory productivity through intelligent workflow management.
