LabSolutions GCMS – Integrated Software for Smarter GC-MS Workflows
Shimadzu LabSolutions GCMS is a comprehensive software platform designed to simplify the control, data acquisition, data processing, and reporting of GC-MS and GC-MS/MS systems. As part of the wider LabSolutions ecosystem, it provides a unified user experience across Shimadzu analytical instruments, enabling laboratories to work more efficiently while improving data quality, compliance, and productivity.
LabSolutions GCMS integrates both gas chromatography (GC) and gas chromatograph–mass spectrometry (GC-MS) operations into a single software environment. For systems equipped with both GC and MS detectors, users can perform instrument control, data acquisition, and data analysis using the same software platform. This seamless integration simplifies workflows, reduces training requirements, and allows laboratories to transition easily between GC and GC-MS analyses.
The software includes advanced tools for data interpretation, peak integration, and compound identification. By combining LabSolutions Insight, Peak Intelligence, and optional Smart Databases, laboratories can automate traditionally manual data processing tasks and accelerate quantitative and qualitative analysis. Automated peak integration improves consistency and helps reduce the time required for data review, while optional Smart Metabolite and Smart Pesticide Databases support faster compound identification and screening workflows.

Network System: LabSolutions CS
Data acquired from multiple systems can be reviewed or confirmed using client computers connected via a LAN or other network. If multiple systems are used, data obtained from each system can be reviewed from any client computer. Even in the case of multiple analysts using the same system, the ability to separate analytical work from measurement work improves work efficiency.
*1 The acquisition control PC controls analytical instruments. It can also be used to send analytical instructions and perform postrun analysis, just like a client PC.
*2 If a terminal service is used, then LabSolutions software does not need to be installed on client PCs.
*3 If an iPad is used, then XenApp from Citrix must be installed.
Standalone Database System: LabSolutions DB
LabSolutions DB manages data by connecting a computer with analysis instruments, which do not have network connections. It is recommended for facilities that do not require network connections and want to be ER/ES compliant with one computer.
